Little League Time

August is one of my favorite months of the year. Not because summer is finally almost over. Not because football is finally almost starting. Because of Little League Baseball.

Is there an annual sporting event that's better than the Little League World Series? I'm hardpressed to find one.

The World Series starts Saturday, August 19th. But it's never too early to get into the mood. Regional tournaments are underway today, and you can keep track of all the action here.

Last year, Toms River was back in the Regional tournament for the 6th time since 1995. No such luck this time, as we lost a heartbreaker to Brick American in the District semifinals. But, never the less, I'll be in full-force rooting for NJ to get its first LLWS title since 1998.

Our team this year? Livingston American Little League. Looking forward to them having a successful run in Connecticut.

For anyone who is around on Monday, August 14th, the boys and I will once again be heading to Bristol, Ct for the Mid-Atlantic Region Championship game. It's a blast every year, and even better when NJ makes it to the title game. You should come.

And if you can't, fear not, it'll be televised on ESPN at 8pm.

Go Livingston!
